HAULER: Bumble and Bumble… Bee?

HEY GUYS! Haha. Today, I went out shopping because it’s thursday and we, Australians, all know what that means: late night shopping. So I went out and grabbed some stuff.

Mainly because I’ve been pretty much cooped up at home for like the past 2 months, I’ve completely used up ALL my LUSH hair care products so I figured it was about time I went out and bought something new and even though I’m still a LUSHmaniac (don’t worry), I like myself some new products so here is what I got from Bumble and Bumble. Hang out for some reviews coming up over the next few weeks!!!

Scent Me!

I think anyone who has seen my room and/or my bathroom cabinet knows about my not so secret obsession with perfume so here are 3 of my favorites. If you want to see any perfume reviews, pop your suggestions down below and I will post one!

I have little out of 5 rating by my lovely friend, Ann, who’s adding a third person perspective to this reviewing.

Freak by Illamasqua

Image

This perfume is DAMN unique. I’ve never smelt anything like it. It has a strange concoction of scents that range from poison hemlock to frankincense. Definitely one of my favorites.

Top notes: Black Davana, Opium Flower and Belladonna.
Heart notes: Poison Hemlock, Datura and Queen of the Night blossom.
Base notes: Frankincense, Oud and Myrrh.

Ann says: 3 out of 5

Black XS by Paco Rabanne for Her

Image

Positively my favorite scent of all time. It has an indescribable allure. Think musky strawberries.

Top notes: cranberry, pink peppercorn and tamarind
Heart notes: hellebore noir rose, black violet and cocoa blossom
Base notes: patchouli, Massoia wood and vanilla

Ann says: 4 out of 5

Burberry Brit for Her

One of my early purchases that I’m still in love with. It has vanilla, amber and tonka bean giving it that depth that I adore.

Top notes: green lemon, frosted pear and white almond
Heart Notes: white peony
Base Notes: vanilla, amber, mahogany and balsamic Tonka bean accords

Ann says: 4.5 out of 5

Mr Dreamy, For Your Hands

Image

If you’re like me and you’re constantly wearing nail polish because it has become an addiction over the years, you will know how dry your nails get.

If you’re in winter right now, you know how dry your skin gets.

Over the past 2-3 weeks, I’ve had the joy of trying out 2 of LUSH’s amazing products (Lemony Flutter and Tiny Hands) and here’s what I think in about 3 words: they are amazing.

Image

Lemony Flutter is like a moisturizing paste for your dry skin and you can use it anywhere, and I do. I use it as a foot cream, a nail/cuticle cream and a cream on my elbows and knees. I love the thick consistency and it smells quite nice.

Image

Tiny Hands is like a little non exfoliating body butter for your hands. It is just amazing. At first you put it on your hands and it feels like the “oil” doesn’t wash off but you go over to towel off the water and BOOM your hands feel amazing and the “oil” just soaks in immediately.

I mean, honestly, there is nothing worse than the feeling of dry skin and/or looking down to see dry nails and cuticles but these two products have been miraculous. I’ve been using then every single day. I love them both and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who’s battling with dry skin and even then, we always look after our body and our face, but we always forget about our hands!

That is all for today’s post. Tell me what you think of these products if you’ve ever used and what are your holy grail hand products.

See you tomorrow

WHAT! May’s Over!

I can’t believe how FAST this month has past right by. Here are my May Favorites

Image

  • Makeup: Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion: I’ve been wearing this more over this month because it’s drastically easier to take off because it’s not waterproof and it coats my lashes lightly and evenly.
  • Skincare (Face): Origins VitaZing Moisturizer: I’ve honestly never been into wearing things with spf in it because I’m slightly allergic but this one is so good and it just works with me so well. I love the fact that it has a sheer tint release too.
  • Skincare (Body): Happy Hippy Shower Gel: it’s such a refreshing smell and I just love how it works.
  • Hair: Moroccan Oil: there are many reasons why I like this but there are also quite a few against this, but I’ve just been putting it in my ends to make it seem a lot glossier and nicer.
  • Nail: OPI NYC Ballet Collection Care to Danse: I love this lilac color. Even though it is sheer, it don’t go on streaky and is just a really amazing color.
  • Fragrance: Paco Rabanne Black XS: again with this but I got one and a body moisturizer for my bday so I decided to get crackin on it.
  • Fashion: my burgundy jeans: the add some color but it isn’t bright so it’s in keeping with the autumn feel.
  • Accessory: Scarves! It’s getting chilly now so out come the scarves!
  • Book: The Handmaid’s Tale: I’m actually studying this so… I actually haven’t read anything else this month (naughty me).
  • Movie: Not a movie but the Sherlock BBC series. I love it so so SO much. It’s made amazingly well.
  • Youtuber: lilcammo93 it’s nice to find an Australian youtuber
  • Blogger: Extra Petite i love her. 😛

That is all for this month’s favorites.

I hope you enjoyed it.

What were your favorites?

LUSH Review: 9 to 5 Cleanser

I went to Lush (again) over the weekend and I was given a tub of 9 to 5 cleanser to try and it’s pretty clear to all of us how much I love lush, so I decided to try it.

Image

I’ve used it this whole week and here is my honest opinion about this product. I have not changed any other factors in my skin care routine.

Honestly speaking, I’ve noticed absolutely no change in my skin at all. It’s not particularly bad (no active breakouts right now, SCORE!) but I’m not adoring and raving about this product.

I’m used to Origin’s Checks and Balance cleanser which is just absolutely amazing and lathers like a charm but this one feels as if you’re not even washing your face. It doesn’t lather at all but it just sits on your skin. So when I first used it, I was thoroughly unimpressed.

However, when I stepped out of the shower and dried myself off, my skin actually felt quite nice. I was shocked and a little delighted. So I kept using it. That’s where the downfall lies. This product just isn’t strong enough. It doesn’t create a noticeable effect on my skin.

I know that one week may not be long enough to sense the real “effects” of this product but I know that for me, I would not be purchasing this product in full size. I’ve used a bare few of Lush’s skincare produces for the face and I’ve noticed the general trend that they’re just very weak.

I’m by no means saying that this is an awful product because that would not be true either. I just feel as if it performs the minimal effect on my face and the full size being $AUS 16, I just don’t think it’s worth it for me. People who prefer extremely gentle products like this may enjoy it, but personally, I still prefer my Checks and Balances.

If you’re ever used it and you’ve liked it, please tell me in the comments below.

This post expresses my honest opinion of a product that I sampled for free. I am not paid to do this post but simple feel as if I want to express my feelings about this product.

Thanks for reading and see you tomorrow.

PRODUCTS: Empties and Regrets

Hey guys. I know that I’ve been extremely MIA but I’ve also been extremely busy. I had a show last week and then I had to spend the weekend catching up lost work. But I’m back now and I’m going to be back on track from now on, NO interruptions. 😛

So today, I’ll be doing for you a post on products that I’ve finished and I’m definitely going to repurchase and products that I’ve thought were going to be amazing but have turned out to be not so lovely for reasons that I will describe for you guys. These products will be a range of beauty and makeup items and I hope you enjoy.

Do keep in mind that we’re all different, what works for you may not work for me and what I just didn’t like, you may have liked, and that’s okay. Actually, if there any of those products that I’ve used and loved that you didn’t like at all, or vice versa, PLEASE tell me in the comments below because I’d be very interested to know.

Empties: Products that I’m eager to repurchase.

I have an issue where I LOVE a product and somehow I just don’t go back to repurchase it (because I’m lazy and not very product-loyal because I love to try around) but there are some that I just go back to/know I will go back to.

  • LUSH’s American Cream: this is honestly an amazing conditioner that works just so so well on my hair. I’ve finished my 100g bottle but I’m so keen to go in and buy more. Maybe the Lush-keepers have started to realised exactly how often I go there!
  • Another LUSH product, Rehab, is something that I must repurchase. A shampoo that lathers well without the use of sulphates and parabens etc. That’s just amazing. I adore the fact that Lush is natural because I feel the amount of chemicals in those other things are just not good for your hair.
  • Now onto skincare, I’ve had this for not that long at all but it has immediately become my all time favorite face wash: Origin’s Checks and Balances. I love it so much that I’m already into the last 1/4 of the bottle. I will most definitely be repurchasing. The way it acts on my face without leaving its feeling taunt is just amazing AND you get a thorough clean, necessary for my face!
  • Clinique’s Anti-Blemish Solutions! This toner is so good. No matter how well I clean my face, you still can’t get as deep as this toner does. Honestly an amazing product. Nothing else I can say, honestly!
  • Lip balm wise I have 3 favorites: Burt’s Bees Lip Balm with Mango and Lip Balm with Pink Grapefruit (that I had to hunt down! (well, an amazing person hunted it down for me)) and the LUSH Honey Trap. I’m a Lip Balm FANATIC. I’m not kidding. I adore my lip balms. And these are amazing. Mainly because of their natural ingredients again. I remember my chemistry teacher saying that we shouldn’t use vaseline based lip balms because the molecules are too big, I don’t really know what that means but I trust her. Go beeswax based lipbalms! Will be repurchasing if I ever run out/lose them.
  • Makeup wise: MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study is something that is amazingly versatile. I use it as an all-over the lid base for any eyeshadows (sometimes I just wear it), I use it for a brown bone highlight, and I use it on my cheekbone as a highlight. I just love the formulation and some how it manages to stay on my lid all day!
  • Another makeup one is the Napoleon Perdis Loose Dust in No 37. Now they’ve changed their loose dust powders completely which makes me very very sad and it means I can’t repurchase (GRRRRR) but thats almost okay because the Bare Study (above) is basically like a cream version, a lot cleaner!

REGRET! Products That Disappointed Me.

I generally don’t have that many products that I end up being sad with because I’m do quite a bit of research on everything I buy before I buy it: that is, I read reviews, I look at ingredient lists and tuff like that online and sometimes I ask around. But, here are some that I thought I would like but I just didn’t

  • LUSH Lip Service is the first candidate I’m rather disappointed with. We all know how much I adore Lush and to have this product that I just disliked so much is really disappointing. It’s so difficult to get it out of the jar, it doesn’t applicate well, and it’s just inaffective. It’d be an amazing product if I could actually use it properly. This is the same issue with my LUSH It Started with a Kiss Lip tint. So strange how my Honey Trap and Latte apply perfectly but not this one 😦
  • MAC Technakohl liner in Purple Dash: I’m not the biggest fan of the Technakohl liners at all. They’re impossible to use (in my opinion), they don’t give me a nice line (well at least this one doesn’t). Honestly, the color isn’t amazing at all either. It looks like I either have really bad bags under my eyes of someone’s punched me in the waterline. It’s just not good at all. So upsetting for how much I love MAC. And it’s rather expensive too.
  • Vaseline Dry Skin Lotion and the likes: Some people swear by this. I just abhor it. It leaves a sticky residue and it just refuses to soak in. When it does, it doesn’t fix my dry skin. Unimpressed.
  • MAC Blush in Fleur Power: I actually love the formulation of MAC blushes, they are one of the best but honestly, it’s just the color of this. It’s too pigmented (haha wow am I saying this)! It doesn’t allow me room to build so as soon as I try to put it on, I look like a doll that’s been slapped or something.
  • Origins Dr Weil Mega-mushroom: it says that it’s best for redness and sensitivity, meaning that it’s hoping to fix that right. Well I used it for a month and noticed absolutely no change in my skin. It says that it’s best for comination-oily skin right. Well I used it and I’d always get more oil on my face than usual (not a nice feeling). On top of this, it has a scent that I just can’t deal with. A definite let down for me because I generally love origins products.
  • LUSH Grease Lightning: a spot treatment that is okay but I expected it to be better. It’s actually pretty good but being use to Origin’s Super Spot Remover, this just doesn’t compare.

So that is it for my post. Tell me in the comments below what are products that you always repurchase and what are the ones you’re disappointed with. I’m curious to see your responses.

Thanks for waiting so patiently for this post and thanks for reading.

I WILL see you tomorrow.

Lash BLAST! DiorShow Waterproof Mascara Review.

Hey guys. I know I kinda said yesterday that I’ll do the rest of that post today but it turns out that people aren’t exactly loving that one so maybe we’ll switch it up. If you do want me to continue it, please tell me in the comment section below. Also, if you have any posts you’d like me to do, please put that underneath too.

Image

Now today calls for the review of my all time favorite mascara. And honestly, I’ve tried WAY too many mascaras (!) and honestly every time I try to venture away from this, I just keep on returning to it. Something about the way it can just hold a curl so so perfectly, the way it doesn’t smudge, everything about it is so perfect for me (and do keep in mind that this is completely a personal thing so this may not work for you).

Anyways. Because I have really stick straight and really stubborn eyelashes, it’s very difficult to get it to behave. I’ve honestly used so many things that are all amazing in their own ways but none of them have the combined effect like this one does.

The plump round brush means that it works the product into your lashes really well as well as building volume and holds a curl so perfectly. This is honestly a really deeply pigmented mascara that is said to be the “cult favorite of makeup artists and lovers of thick glamorous lashes”. And I honestly can’t agree more. After all of the mascaras I’ve tried, this one is the best.

Just as one example, I applied this mascara at around 10 o’clock this morning and my lashes were still looking curled and full (for me anyways) by about 8 pm. I didn’t have to touch up today at all! In 10 hours, it didn’t budge! Not a tiny bit! That is so amazing.

The only problem I find with this is that because the brush is just so big, it catches my eyelid quite often so I get this very… interesting… looking line above my lashes. But I suspect that’s only because of the way my eyes are shaped. It’s also hard to remove because I use the waterproof version. I haven’t used the non-waterproof version but I’d suspect it’d work just as well.

Some people would find fault in that it retails for $US 24.50 but honestly speaking, all high end mascaras pretty much retail the same.

One thing really do support about this mascara  that is not about the product itself is that (as far as I’m concerned), it’s cruelty free. I honestly am so so SO against animal testing and to know that this product is cruelty free gives me even more reason to love it.

I’ve also heard that this product is comparable to Smashbox’s Bionic Mascara so you may want to go and check that out.

My other favourites are:

Image

Anna Sui Super Mascara: product itself it really amazing BUT it clumps so easily.

Image

Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion: it doesn’t hold curls as nicely

Image

Benefit BADgal: it doesn’t hold curls as well

That is the end of my post. I highly recommend this mascara for anyone who would like to try out a new mascara.

Tell me in the comments below what your favorite mascara is.

Thank you so much for reading and see you tomorrow.
