PRODUCTS: Empties and Regrets

Hey guys. I know that I’ve been extremely MIA but I’ve also been extremely busy. I had a show last week and then I had to spend the weekend catching up lost work. But I’m back now and I’m going to be back on track from now on, NO interruptions. 😛

So today, I’ll be doing for you a post on products that I’ve finished and I’m definitely going to repurchase and products that I’ve thought were going to be amazing but have turned out to be not so lovely for reasons that I will describe for you guys. These products will be a range of beauty and makeup items and I hope you enjoy.

Do keep in mind that we’re all different, what works for you may not work for me and what I just didn’t like, you may have liked, and that’s okay. Actually, if there any of those products that I’ve used and loved that you didn’t like at all, or vice versa, PLEASE tell me in the comments below because I’d be very interested to know.

Empties: Products that I’m eager to repurchase.

I have an issue where I LOVE a product and somehow I just don’t go back to repurchase it (because I’m lazy and not very product-loyal because I love to try around) but there are some that I just go back to/know I will go back to.

  • LUSH’s American Cream: this is honestly an amazing conditioner that works just so so well on my hair. I’ve finished my 100g bottle but I’m so keen to go in and buy more. Maybe the Lush-keepers have started to realised exactly how often I go there!
  • Another LUSH product, Rehab, is something that I must repurchase. A shampoo that lathers well without the use of sulphates and parabens etc. That’s just amazing. I adore the fact that Lush is natural because I feel the amount of chemicals in those other things are just not good for your hair.
  • Now onto skincare, I’ve had this for not that long at all but it has immediately become my all time favorite face wash: Origin’s Checks and Balances. I love it so much that I’m already into the last 1/4 of the bottle. I will most definitely be repurchasing. The way it acts on my face without leaving its feeling taunt is just amazing AND you get a thorough clean, necessary for my face!
  • Clinique’s Anti-Blemish Solutions! This toner is so good. No matter how well I clean my face, you still can’t get as deep as this toner does. Honestly an amazing product. Nothing else I can say, honestly!
  • Lip balm wise I have 3 favorites: Burt’s Bees Lip Balm with Mango and Lip Balm with Pink Grapefruit (that I had to hunt down! (well, an amazing person hunted it down for me)) and the LUSH Honey Trap. I’m a Lip Balm FANATIC. I’m not kidding. I adore my lip balms. And these are amazing. Mainly because of their natural ingredients again. I remember my chemistry teacher saying that we shouldn’t use vaseline based lip balms because the molecules are too big, I don’t really know what that means but I trust her. Go beeswax based lipbalms! Will be repurchasing if I ever run out/lose them.
  • Makeup wise: MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study is something that is amazingly versatile. I use it as an all-over the lid base for any eyeshadows (sometimes I just wear it), I use it for a brown bone highlight, and I use it on my cheekbone as a highlight. I just love the formulation and some how it manages to stay on my lid all day!
  • Another makeup one is the Napoleon Perdis Loose Dust in No 37. Now they’ve changed their loose dust powders completely which makes me very very sad and it means I can’t repurchase (GRRRRR) but thats almost okay because the Bare Study (above) is basically like a cream version, a lot cleaner!

REGRET! Products That Disappointed Me.

I generally don’t have that many products that I end up being sad with because I’m do quite a bit of research on everything I buy before I buy it: that is, I read reviews, I look at ingredient lists and tuff like that online and sometimes I ask around. But, here are some that I thought I would like but I just didn’t

  • LUSH Lip Service is the first candidate I’m rather disappointed with. We all know how much I adore Lush and to have this product that I just disliked so much is really disappointing. It’s so difficult to get it out of the jar, it doesn’t applicate well, and it’s just inaffective. It’d be an amazing product if I could actually use it properly. This is the same issue with my LUSH It Started with a Kiss Lip tint. So strange how my Honey Trap and Latte apply perfectly but not this one 😦
  • MAC Technakohl liner in Purple Dash: I’m not the biggest fan of the Technakohl liners at all. They’re impossible to use (in my opinion), they don’t give me a nice line (well at least this one doesn’t). Honestly, the color isn’t amazing at all either. It looks like I either have really bad bags under my eyes of someone’s punched me in the waterline. It’s just not good at all. So upsetting for how much I love MAC. And it’s rather expensive too.
  • Vaseline Dry Skin Lotion and the likes: Some people swear by this. I just abhor it. It leaves a sticky residue and it just refuses to soak in. When it does, it doesn’t fix my dry skin. Unimpressed.
  • MAC Blush in Fleur Power: I actually love the formulation of MAC blushes, they are one of the best but honestly, it’s just the color of this. It’s too pigmented (haha wow am I saying this)! It doesn’t allow me room to build so as soon as I try to put it on, I look like a doll that’s been slapped or something.
  • Origins Dr Weil Mega-mushroom: it says that it’s best for redness and sensitivity, meaning that it’s hoping to fix that right. Well I used it for a month and noticed absolutely no change in my skin. It says that it’s best for comination-oily skin right. Well I used it and I’d always get more oil on my face than usual (not a nice feeling). On top of this, it has a scent that I just can’t deal with. A definite let down for me because I generally love origins products.
  • LUSH Grease Lightning: a spot treatment that is okay but I expected it to be better. It’s actually pretty good but being use to Origin’s Super Spot Remover, this just doesn’t compare.

So that is it for my post. Tell me in the comments below what are products that you always repurchase and what are the ones you’re disappointed with. I’m curious to see your responses.

Thanks for waiting so patiently for this post and thanks for reading.

I WILL see you tomorrow.

Off With The Makeup: How to Remove Makeup Properly

Image

You know the number one makeup rule is never to sleep with your makeup on, right? Well, it’s not an easy job. The make-up-removing process is always on that requires that little extra effort that some so many just cannot be bothered to exert at the end of a really long and tiresome day but I can guarantee that removing all your makeup at the end of the day will be so unbelievably beneficial for your skin.

Face

  • Face Wipes. These easy and magical things are not as evil as so many people claim. Just make sure that when you use them, you’re using a good and effective one and use more than one sheet. Also make sure that you purchase one for a good skincare brand that actually dissolves the makeup. I recommending using 1 for your cheeks, 1 for your forehead and then all over your face again, and 1 final one for your eye makeup. It’s so quick and easy. However, there are so many ways to remove makeup.
  • Cleansing Milks/Oils. These are considered far far better because they’re believed to have a better formula. Because everyone’s skin is different, I find it difficult to recommend one but I do love the MAC removing oils/milks. Just try your favorite skin care brand and the sales lady will usually refer you to a pretty good one. When buying it for the first time, try and get a sample or a smaller bottle just in case. Once you found one that doesnt leave an oily film, make you break out or leave residue on your face, you’ve found the perfect one.
  • Now in comparison: I personally can’t say which one I ultimately prefer up for the face wipes the MAC Makeup Remover wipes are amazing because they actually have the same formula as their bottled product. I just like these more because I then don’t have to use a separate cotton pad/wipes (annoying…) or my fingers (which are potentially dirty).
  • Double cleansing. Always double cleanse when removing makeup. There’ll always be something that could potentially cause problems, especially to people with problem skin like me.

Eyes, Lips and Cheeks

  • Waterproof makeup. I find waterproof makeup so hard to remove. It gets to be SUCH a hassle. I honestly don’t know what else to recommend but waterproof makeup removers. When removing eye makeup, just rest it on the eyes for a few seconds, and then pull downwards and outwards. This will help your lashes grow longer and healthier.
  • Non-waterproof makeup. For non waterproof makeup, any makeup remover will do, to be honest.

My Recommendations

For both waterproof and non-waterproof makeup, I honestly think that the MAC makeup removers are the best ones I’ve used. Because I have very sensitive eyes and acne-prone oily skin, it’s hard for me to find something that works so well.  The MAC Cleanse-Off Oil is an amazing product that you can just use to wash off your whole face and even though it is an oil, it does not break me out and it does not affect my eyes. It removes everything so so well.

Another very cheap and easy alternative is baby oil. Maybe makeup gurus (like the MakeUpChair on YouTube) holds the baby oil as their chief method. Personally, I don’t trust it as much because it feels as if it’s not as good as the brand ones.

Disclaimer: This is just my opinion and I am in no way a professional. This is not a sponsored post and all products mentioned were tried and bought by myself.

Does anyone else have something to add, or want to share their makeup removing experiences and tips? What is your holy grail remover?

So that is all for this post.

Thanks so much for reading and see you tomorrow

Pinch and a Punch for the First Day of…. MAY!: April Favorites

AHHH! I can’t believe it’s May already and time for another Monthly Favorite! I’m excited though because that means it’s almost my birthday *little celebratory dance* Anyways. So you know how I have a very structured monthly favorites post? Well I want you to tell me in the comments what you think of this layout in comparison to just chatting about what I liked.

Disclaimer: None of these photos that follow are mine.

Make-up

Image

This month, I’ve just been absolutely addicted to my MAC Bare Study Paint pot. It’s just something I sweep over my lid because it’s just so easy! The color is just so natural but the shimmer in it makes my eyes just look more awake. I adore this shadow.

Skin Care (Face)

Image

I have to say, apart from my Clarisonic which is just amazing, the actual skin care PRODUCT that I’ve been using every day and that has just worked so so well for me is the Origins Checks and Balances Foaming Cleanser. It’s so so gentle and together with my Clarisonic, helps to make my skin just that much better.

Skin Care (Body)

Image

I’ve been using my Body Shop Cactus Brush with my LUSH products pretty much every single day this month (like ever other month) and even though this is not a new edition, I’ve just been noticing how good it is now because as we go into the colder months, my skin just gets so so dry and gross but this is just buffing away that surface layer of dead skin that tends to look horrible in the colder months.

Hair Care

Image

LUSH’s Conditioner called Retread. I didn’t even have to think about that one. My hair’s just been not behaving that the ends become really really frizzy and dry and split ends emerge non-stop (damn the cold weather) so this has just been so so amazing. I literally bought this around the beginning of last month and I’m halfway through it and my small LUSH American Cream Conditioner.

Nail

Image

I recently got 3 new OPI polishes and I’ve had on Penny for Your Thoughts for the past week or so and I’ve been loving it because although it a light coppery-orange color, it looks quite nice and natural on the nails (obviously not that natural but you know what I mean). There are some pink reflects in it that makes it just that little bit prettier. Not bad OPI, not bad at all.

Fragrance

Image

I’ve been wearing my Victoria’s Secret Body Mist in Coconut Passion and I honestly cannot explain how much I love this scent. Oh. My. GOD it smells amazing. Only annoying thing is that it’s a body mist so therefore doesn’t last long at all. But if I wanted anything for my birthday, it would be a Victoria’s Secret fragrance. Eternal love! I honestly had the hardest time deciding which body mist to get.

Fashion

Image

I got this really amazing blazer that just looks amazing because you must know that my style can get rather preppy so I just ADORE blazers, I just honestly have so so many. But I just love this blazer so much and it’s just become my favorite that quickly. (Note: mine is slightly different from the one in this picture).

Accessory

Image

Definitely my Miu Miu handbag. Hands down. I just love it so so much and I use it to go out shopping or if I have a class, every single time. (Note: Mine is in a pale nude pink color rather than this color).

Book

I read Fight Club this month, I’ve never watched the movie but I thoroughly enjoyed the book, yeah 🙂

Movie

Haven’t watched any :S

Youtuber

Other than the usual suspects, I’ve been really really loving Evelina Barry from Evelinicutza (a new discovery this month).

Blogger

I absolutely adore leblogdebetty. Her posts are always really great, I love her fashion sense and even better is that she look so much like my friend Julia.

Thank you so much for reading. Tell me down below in the comments what your favorite things of April were.

Disclaimer: All of these products mentioned were bought by me with my own money. This is not a sponsored post and all opinions expressed in this post is honest and my own.

IT’S CLEARING UP!!!: My Skincare Routine

Previous Posts mentioned (go read them 😀 ):

LUSH Hair Products Review
LUSH Body-(Skin)-care Products Review
My Skin Story

Image

The much a-waited post has finally arrived. Ever since doing my hair and body care things, I’ve wanted to do this post but just never had the chance to because I wanted to make sure that this routine works before posting about it. I’m just going to write up what products I use, in which order, how I use them and stuff like that. They’ll be a mini-review on each product but if you want me to do a full review on a product or a few products, please type it in the comments section below. 🙂

So you may remember my post from a few days ago about the problems I’ve been having with my skin ever since I was around 10, so that’s a really long time. But my skin is now past the worst stage of it but if it gets really irritated or if it’s that time of the month, my skin just explodes. Last week, my skin was having a rather unhappy reaction to something (I have no idea what) and I was all broken out all over my forehead and it was just really really awful but I feel as if using these products seriously seriously helped because just a few days later, my skin is almost completely clear again. YAY!

If you haven’t read that post mentioned above, go read it. Or just keep in mind when reading this post that I have Combination to Oily skin that is very acne-prone.

Morning Routine

1) A light cleanser: The Liquid Facial Soap in the Clinique 3-Step Kit for Skin Type 3 or 4
I only use this cleanser in the AM and I’ve been using this cleanser for almost 3/4 of a year now and I’m still loving it. It’s just a really light cleanser for the morning because I don’t like to have really strong chemicals or anything like that on my skin that early in the day. However, I did try using a very light (non-chemical) exfoliate instead in the mornings but it just got so so tedious because I’m usually in a rush in the morning and I don’t want to spend that time using an exfoliate. So I just get a pump of this onto (CLEAN!!!) hands and rub it in circular motions on my wet face. It will foam up a little and after doing that for maybe a minute, I just wash it off. I try and avoid using towels because they can carry bacteria (I know, ew).

2) Toner: Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion
This is a rather new edition but it’s been working wonders. I use this AM and PM.Just shake so that the sediment “acne-medicine” is mixed into the solution and I just get this onto a cotton pad and sweep it all over my face. I’ve actually not come across a toner as good as this one and this is my mother’s “skin care secret” so follow it. I seriously recommend this. 🙂

3) Moisturizer: Origins VitaZing
Moisturizer acts as a barriers between outside grossness and your skin (pores). This moisturizer is amazing. Like actually. It also has SPF 15 which is why I put it on in the AM only. I put this all over my face except for my eye area and where I have active blemishes or hyperpigmentation.

4) Others: Sisley Cosmetics Phyto-Blanc Intensive Lightening Lotion and LUSH Grease Lightning
Before you freak out, my mother is a very very loyal customer of Sisley so we basically get an endless supply of free samples so I don’t actually have the full size of the Intensive Lightening Lotion but I just use the samples. I’m not entirely sure if I like it enough to ever buy the full sample but at least I know that something is on my face fighting the hyper-pigmentation. (I put it on the spots where I have hyper-pigmentation). And then the LUSH Grease Lightning is great to put on my active breakouts. It’s a lot lighter than the Spot Remover by Origins but still does a really great job. I would definitely recommend this. Both these products I use AM and PM.

5) Eye cream: Origins GinZing
I’ve never really needed an eye-cream because I don’t have a problem with bags or puffiness (well, it can’t be solved with an eye-cream) but the lady at the store (and FleurDeForce on youtube) said that this is a good eyecream so I just use it in the AM to reduce puffiness in the mornings and to awaken my eyes.

That is all for the morning (then I apply make-up)

Evening Routine:

1) Makeup Remover: MAC Makeup Removers and Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water
I have a whole range of MAC Makeup Removers and I love them all. I usually use the remover wipes (I know, some people hate wipes but these are actually really amazing) especially if I have a lot of makeup on because I always feel as if it doesn’t completely come off otherwise. The Sephora one, I use that just for taking off eye-makeup because it’s gentle.

2) Cleanser and Clarisonic: Origins Checks and Balances
Now I’ve recently invested in a Clarisonic (a review will be up if not tomorrow than the day after) and I absolutely love it. I use it in the shower (because I shower at night) and I just put a ring of the Origins cleanser (which I just adore because it works beautifully) and I use it on my face for a minutes. I have a clarisonic Mia so it actually times 1 minute for me. (Obviously these 2 steps are just PM).

3) Toner: Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion
Same as the AM above.

4) Moisturizer: SkinFoods Lettuce and Cucumer Jelly Cream
I’m devastated that I’ve almost finished the tub but this is AMAZING. It’s so refreshing and hydrating. Uh, I love it. Same with the moisturizer in the AM, I put it everywhere but my eyes, where I have hyper-pigmentation and active breakouts.

5) Others: Sisley Cosmetics Phyto-Blanc Intensive Lightening Lotion and LUSH Grease Lightning
These are all the same as the AM as well. 🙂

I also moisturize my lips with either LUSH Honey Trap Lip Balm or Burt’s Bees Nourishing Lip Balm with Mango Butter, but of which smell absolutely AMAZING and work wonders to make my lips… sexy… HAHA!

So anyways, that is it! Two five-step routines for my skincare. My skin is actually feeling and looking so healthy right now so I feel as if these routines are working really well for me. Now, that is a point of emphasis FOR ME. All skin is different so what may work or me, may not work for you. So keep that in mind. 🙂

Oh and before I forget: EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE I:

– Do a mask: Usually one from Origins. If I’m really badly broken out, instead of doing the usual Cleanser, Toner, Moisturizer, I use Origin’s Clear Improvement, Out of Trouble and Drink Up (in that order)

– I use LUSH Sweet Lips lip scrub

[Disclaimer: All these products were bought by me (well apart from the Sisley samples that were NOT given to me for review purposes) and this is completely my honest opinion.]

That is all from me today.

Everyday No-makeup Makeup

When you wake up in the morning and you need to rush out the door, the last thing you want to do is spend ages in front of the mirror applying your makeup. Well, at least I know that I hate doing that. So I’ve recently come up with a routine that I exercise every morning when I want makeup on. It’s so quick and so easy.

Let’s jump into this routine!!

1) Cleanse your face
I always cleanse my face before applying makeup so I’m not trapping the natural oil and/or dirt under my makeup because that will just call for breakouts!
2) Use toner.
My mother emphasizes this like crazy as part of the cleansing process.
3) Moisturize
Use you favorite face moisturizer. Some may decide to replace this with a primer but I find that it doesn’t really matter with me.
(Note: In all 3 steps above, I’m using the Clinique 3 Step skincare line but I’m actually in the process of changing that.)
THIS IS WHERE THE MAKEUP STARTS:
4) Apply your favorite foundation or tinted moisturizer.
I generally like my MAC Studio Moisture Tint in Dark (I got this when I was uber tanned) despite the shade being a tad bit dark. It adds some color to my face and is quite okay for a tinted moisturizer and my skin agrees with it which is a plus. Sometimes, however, I want slightly heavier coverage because of some more active breakouts or whatever. So I then use Make Up Forever HD Foundation (I don’t know the shade, argh, but I think its either the 3rd or 4th one) and this one works nicely for me, although not my favorite foundation, it’s good for everyday.
5) Concealer
I don’t have an under-eye issue so I just use the MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC30 on blemishes and my hyperpigmentation. I adore this concealer. I just works so so perfectly for my skin. So much love for this product.
6) Contours
I have a cream highlight so it’s really important to put that on under any powder stuff that you’re using. So I just do my highlights just along the top of my cheekbone and right on my brow bone. That’s usually it for highlight. But I bronze quite a bit. I work my Body Shop Honey Bronzer in Deep Matte (shade 4) right under my cheekbone (the hollows of my cheeks), the outer extremities of my forehead and right under my jawbone. I absolutely adore this product. I’ve used it so much that I’m pretty sure I’m going to hit pan very soon.
7) Blush
I usually use either Margin (a shimmery dark peachy color) or Fleur Power (a perfect matte pink) both my MAC. I either blend this in with my bronzer, so right above, (if I want a contour effect) or onto the apples of my cheek (if I’m lacking some life and color that day).
8) Eyeshadow
I usually use an all-over the lid color like MAC Paintpot in Bare Study (which stays on all day) or MAC’s Pink Venus. Those provide for the cleanest and simplest make-up looks but you could also use colors like MAC’s Haux or Satin Taupe into the crease.
8.5) Eyeliner
This is a step 8.5 because it’s optional. I don’t always use eyeliner if I’m just going for a simple everyday look but you can. Maybe a gel or liquid is the best because they stay on all day long.
9) Curl your lashes.
Seriously, do it. Why wouldn’t you?!
10) Mascara
Use your favorite mascara (mine is currently the Benefit Bad Gal Lash). Place the wand at the base of your lashes, wiggle and then pull up. Do this until you’re satisfied.

You’re done. That was quick wasn’t it.
So that was MY everyday makeup look. What did you think?

I Got Those Kissable Lips ;) (MAC’s Viva Glam V Review)

For the longest time I’ve been in the desperate search for the perfect nude lippy. Every girl needs one of those! I’ve tried the pricy-er Guerlain, I’ve tried Revlon, I’ve tried Bobbi Brown, but nothing was doing it for me. Nothing was really making me think “Yes! This is the one!”People who know me know that I can be very very particular and “anal”(retentive) about things and with lipstick colors, my OCD side takes a whirl.

I’m usually a fan of the bold lip if I bother to wear lipstick. I already have rather “heavily” pigmented lips thanks to genetics and youth, so I always had the mentality that if I’d bother with a nude lip, it’d better be good. So you’d usually see me sporting MAC’s Ruby Woo (a ferocious red) or Guerlain’s Rouge G in Berry (B20) (a fuchsia pink). At Christmas last year, I decided to invest my money in Guerlain’s Rouge G in Beatrix (B60) and I was slightly disappointed. The brilliant baby pink looked so appealing as a swatch, on my hand and I was so flattered by the man at the Guerlain counter that I lay down that $AUD 48 and went happily home. As soon as I started wearing it, I could see an issue. The color payoff on my lips were not the way they were in the store. You couldn’t see much at all. It was a strange cool pink that didn’t complement my rather tanned, olive and warm skintone at all. And worst of all, the formula was so sticky! Uck! The main reason why I avoid lip-glosses like they’re acne or the bubonic plague!

So it wasn’t until april this year that I decided I might brave the nude lippy again. So off I charged to the MAC counter. The MUA there was one of the loveliest ladies I’ve met. She actually said that “we won’t rest until we find that perfect lipstick” and hell we did. With MAC’s collection, though, it took a while. Try this one. No not the right colour. How about this one? Too pink. How about this one? Too glossy. Here you go. Oh my god that’s horrible on me. And this? Too brown. And finally she declared, “I know the perfect one for you.”

So off she charged. When she came back, in her waving hand was a back tube with a red ring instead of silver. I was intrigued. So on the lip it went. And Oh My Mother Of God! It was so perfect. The color and the reflects were perfect. It wasn’t too pink, nor too nude. It was a really lovely plumb-y colour that shows up really nicely on my lips. They were like my lips but better.

Even better than that is the story behind this lippy. It belongs to the MAC Viva Glam range which was started in 1994. The best thing about this lipstick is that all the money you pay (all of it, not 5%, not 50% but 100%) goes the MAC AIDS Fund which has supported men and women with HIV/AIDS for 18 years. Million dollars has been raised through the 6 Viva Glam lipsticks on the market, making this lipstick not only amazing quality, a fantastic nude lipstick, but also guilt free.

Definitely something I recommend and rebuy. So if you want a nude lippy, and you have $AUD 36 to spare, go and buy the MAC Viva Glam V. Let’s save the world one tube at a time.

I hope you liked this review and have found it helpful.

March Favourites. Already!!!

I can’t believe it’s the end of the month. Where did all that time go?!

So let’s hop right in:

Skin care (face): I’ve been loving my Helena Rubinstein All Mascara’s Make-up remover. I use this to get rid of make-up every time and it just takes my make-up off like a beauty. I’m almost finished the bottle though 😦 It doesn’t strip my skin or anything, it’s very gentle. However, I always wash my face afterwards.

Skin care (body): Aqua mirabilis Body Butter by Lush. Review here. I just finished this today so I was really devastated. I got this at the beginning of the month.

Hair care: Anything from Lush that I’ve been using is just amazing. But I guess, I’m adoring the Retread Conditioner. Review here.

Makeup: Anna Sui Super Mascara DX Long Lash is absolutely amazing. By looking at the brush head, it seems like nothing but this stuff is just so amazing. It gives me miles of self confidence as it opens my eyes amazingly. I adore this mascara!!! I’ve rediscovered my MAC blush, Margin. This just compliments my skin tone so well and the shimmery peachy-pink colour just looks so good. With this, the Honey Bronze Bronzer from Body Shop contours my face so amazingly and stays on for forever. I LOVE it. My favourite foundation is still the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua.

Fragrance: Illamasqua Freak: this is just the most AMAZING scent in the world. I will do a review on it soon.

Fashion: I’m so into maxi skirts right now, and I’ve recently gotten into skirts, I used to hate them but I just love them so much now. Definitely maxi skirts is my favourite fashion item for the month.

Film: The Hunger Games: I have yet to read the books (naughty naught me), the film was stunning.

Books: Falling Leaves by Adeline Yen Mah: this was the most moving story I’ve read in a while. I absolutely loved it.

That’s the end of my MARCH favourites. Please comment below what your favourites are for the month. Recommend me some books to read over the easter break. Follow me!

I’m such a HAULER!!!

Image

Today, I’m going to do a haul for you because this weekend has been a get-out-and-buy-too-much-stuff type of weekend.

I also have a favour to ask! Please put in the comment section what is your favourite make-up brand, do you like hauls and recommend any post you want me to do.

Okay, I’m going to start with the kit essential stuff.

Image

How cute is that sponge?!?! It’s the Pro-Performance Sponge from Mac and it’s really good for foundation (which is what I’ll use it for) and the strange shape allows it to get into the nooks and crannies of the face.

I have MAC’s full eye-lash curler and I was entranced by the idea of the half eyelash curler. I will get back to you on how it’s going.

The thing of the right is the Green Gel Cleanser/Makeup remover. This stuff is really amazing. It’s like a face wash cleanser because it removes the makeup perfectly (however, the mascara doesn’t like to come off with just this so I use some eye makeup remover) and it also gets rid of the excess oil on my face with out stripping it.

Image

This is my new concealer which works SO SO SO much better then my previous one. It is (I think) the Studio Sculpt one in NC30. I’m not 100% sure because I don’t have it next to me right now

And then a Pencil/bullet brush (219) and a Lash Brush (204)

Image

Here are the eye stuff: starting top to bottom, left to right

Haux (a lovely browny-red colour), Kid (a neutral cream-ish colour), Summer Haze (mineralize eye shadow): an amazing all over the lid colour, Bare Study Paint Pot: another amazing all over the lid colour and also used as a high light, Satin taupe the famous and Pink Venus: an amazing shimmery pink

Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

Most inexpensive: Maybelline Dream Creme Mousse in Soft plum

Most expensive: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in B30

2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?

Love/hate relationship: Mac select cover up concealer: this concealer just does not work for me. It doesn’t bend well on me, it just is not nice at all.

Hardest to get: Napoleon Perdis Loose Dust in 37: I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this eye shadow dust but it’s not discontinued/changed so I can’t repurchase after I use it all 😦

3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?

Latte Lip Tint by LUSH

4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?

Eye liner, I just don’t use eye liner much because most of the time I just can’t be bothered.

5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

Mascara. I LOVE my mascara. It opens my eyes so much and I feel so much less… squinty when I have it on. I also love my bronzer because it thins out my face and redefines my cheekbone.

6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

Eyes. Mostly eyes. Having nice eyes is so important (looks wise). A nice facial structure is good. He HAS to be tall. Characteristic-wise, I like a guy who is witty and can make me laugh. He has to be knowledgeable.

7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

MAC!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mac! And you just can’t have too much of it.
