Aveda Salon Experience

Hey guys!! I’m not dead. I’m so sorry about the hiatus but I just got really really busy with the pile of work that I had to do and I was just really tired all the time and I decided that I needed a time off from my everyday hobby of blogging. But I am back now with a post!!! Haha. So today, I finally went to get my bangs done at the Aveda Salon (Luc Espace at Chatswood Chase in Sydney) and here’s how I felt about it.

Image

I walked in and was immediately impressed with the layout and decor of the salon. With the warm colors and the wood furnishing (and scent), I could definitely feel the signature natural sensory vibe that Aveda carries. Not to mention the service! I was immediately greeted by their signature tea, water and magazines. My stylist, Lisa, came up to me with in a few seconds and we talked about how I wanted my hair, and immediately she understood. I was definitely impressed by how she then stepped me through the steps of cutting my hair (exactly how much she would take off and where and walked me through how she’d cut my bangs).

Image

I was then directed my a young man to the basins. Along the way he asked if I’d like a neck and shoulder massage, complimentary with every visit, and of course I said yes. He asked me to take 3 deep breaths, smelling in the natural essence he was holding and close my eyes. I’d definitely say that it was a relaxing experience. He then did his little massage and off we went with the hair wash. Of course, he only used Aveda products which I was really happy about because I know their mantras and mottos and I was delighted to try their products (amazing, my hair feels so soft and smooth). The only thing I hate about salons sometimes is the amount of products with harmful chemicals in them that they use, products that I would never ever use myself because of my love for natural products.

Image

So, away from the basin we went, and he combed my hair. AND THANK THE LORD he knows how to comb hair. He didn’t rip out my whole head like every other salon I’ve been to did. And then we go to the haircut. She snipped away, reminding me first to uncross my legs to maintain balance in the haircut (something that hairdressers never did before but I was thankful and delighted that she did). And can I say, when I said an inch (ONE inch) she ACTUALLY just cut off ONE ince, no more!!! That seriously impressed me. But the thing that put the icing on the cake was that she waited til the end to cut my fringe, to make sure I hadn’t changed my mind.

This whole package I was thoroughly pleased with. I’m surprised, and delighted, to say that I can not think of ONE bad thing to say about my experience, which is definitely a first. However, I will tell you that although my fringe looks good, it feels hella strange.

Scent Me!

I think anyone who has seen my room and/or my bathroom cabinet knows about my not so secret obsession with perfume so here are 3 of my favorites. If you want to see any perfume reviews, pop your suggestions down below and I will post one!

I have little out of 5 rating by my lovely friend, Ann, who’s adding a third person perspective to this reviewing.

Freak by Illamasqua

Image

This perfume is DAMN unique. I’ve never smelt anything like it. It has a strange concoction of scents that range from poison hemlock to frankincense. Definitely one of my favorites.

Top notes: Black Davana, Opium Flower and Belladonna.
Heart notes: Poison Hemlock, Datura and Queen of the Night blossom.
Base notes: Frankincense, Oud and Myrrh.

Ann says: 3 out of 5

Black XS by Paco Rabanne for Her

Image

Positively my favorite scent of all time. It has an indescribable allure. Think musky strawberries.

Top notes: cranberry, pink peppercorn and tamarind
Heart notes: hellebore noir rose, black violet and cocoa blossom
Base notes: patchouli, Massoia wood and vanilla

Ann says: 4 out of 5

Burberry Brit for Her

Image

One of my early purchases that I’m still in love with. It has vanilla, amber and tonka bean giving it that depth that I adore.

Top notes: green lemon, frosted pear and white almond
Heart Notes: white peony
Base Notes: vanilla, amber, mahogany and balsamic Tonka bean accords

Ann says: 4.5 out of 5

Mr Dreamy, For Your Hands

Image

If you’re like me and you’re constantly wearing nail polish because it has become an addiction over the years, you will know how dry your nails get.

If you’re in winter right now, you know how dry your skin gets.

Over the past 2-3 weeks, I’ve had the joy of trying out 2 of LUSH’s amazing products (Lemony Flutter and Tiny Hands) and here’s what I think in about 3 words: they are amazing.

Image

Lemony Flutter is like a moisturizing paste for your dry skin and you can use it anywhere, and I do. I use it as a foot cream, a nail/cuticle cream and a cream on my elbows and knees. I love the thick consistency and it smells quite nice.

Image

Tiny Hands is like a little non exfoliating body butter for your hands. It is just amazing. At first you put it on your hands and it feels like the “oil” doesn’t wash off but you go over to towel off the water and BOOM your hands feel amazing and the “oil” just soaks in immediately.

I mean, honestly, there is nothing worse than the feeling of dry skin and/or looking down to see dry nails and cuticles but these two products have been miraculous. I’ve been using then every single day. I love them both and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who’s battling with dry skin and even then, we always look after our body and our face, but we always forget about our hands!

That is all for today’s post. Tell me what you think of these products if you’ve ever used and what are your holy grail hand products.

See you tomorrow

LUSH Review: 9 to 5 Cleanser

I went to Lush (again) over the weekend and I was given a tub of 9 to 5 cleanser to try and it’s pretty clear to all of us how much I love lush, so I decided to try it.

Image

I’ve used it this whole week and here is my honest opinion about this product. I have not changed any other factors in my skin care routine.

Honestly speaking, I’ve noticed absolutely no change in my skin at all. It’s not particularly bad (no active breakouts right now, SCORE!) but I’m not adoring and raving about this product.

I’m used to Origin’s Checks and Balance cleanser which is just absolutely amazing and lathers like a charm but this one feels as if you’re not even washing your face. It doesn’t lather at all but it just sits on your skin. So when I first used it, I was thoroughly unimpressed.

However, when I stepped out of the shower and dried myself off, my skin actually felt quite nice. I was shocked and a little delighted. So I kept using it. That’s where the downfall lies. This product just isn’t strong enough. It doesn’t create a noticeable effect on my skin.

I know that one week may not be long enough to sense the real “effects” of this product but I know that for me, I would not be purchasing this product in full size. I’ve used a bare few of Lush’s skincare produces for the face and I’ve noticed the general trend that they’re just very weak.

I’m by no means saying that this is an awful product because that would not be true either. I just feel as if it performs the minimal effect on my face and the full size being $AUS 16, I just don’t think it’s worth it for me. People who prefer extremely gentle products like this may enjoy it, but personally, I still prefer my Checks and Balances.

If you’re ever used it and you’ve liked it, please tell me in the comments below.

This post expresses my honest opinion of a product that I sampled for free. I am not paid to do this post but simple feel as if I want to express my feelings about this product.

Thanks for reading and see you tomorrow.

PRODUCTS: Empties and Regrets

Hey guys. I know that I’ve been extremely MIA but I’ve also been extremely busy. I had a show last week and then I had to spend the weekend catching up lost work. But I’m back now and I’m going to be back on track from now on, NO interruptions. 😛

So today, I’ll be doing for you a post on products that I’ve finished and I’m definitely going to repurchase and products that I’ve thought were going to be amazing but have turned out to be not so lovely for reasons that I will describe for you guys. These products will be a range of beauty and makeup items and I hope you enjoy.

Do keep in mind that we’re all different, what works for you may not work for me and what I just didn’t like, you may have liked, and that’s okay. Actually, if there any of those products that I’ve used and loved that you didn’t like at all, or vice versa, PLEASE tell me in the comments below because I’d be very interested to know.

Empties: Products that I’m eager to repurchase.

I have an issue where I LOVE a product and somehow I just don’t go back to repurchase it (because I’m lazy and not very product-loyal because I love to try around) but there are some that I just go back to/know I will go back to.

  • LUSH’s American Cream: this is honestly an amazing conditioner that works just so so well on my hair. I’ve finished my 100g bottle but I’m so keen to go in and buy more. Maybe the Lush-keepers have started to realised exactly how often I go there!
  • Another LUSH product, Rehab, is something that I must repurchase. A shampoo that lathers well without the use of sulphates and parabens etc. That’s just amazing. I adore the fact that Lush is natural because I feel the amount of chemicals in those other things are just not good for your hair.
  • Now onto skincare, I’ve had this for not that long at all but it has immediately become my all time favorite face wash: Origin’s Checks and Balances. I love it so much that I’m already into the last 1/4 of the bottle. I will most definitely be repurchasing. The way it acts on my face without leaving its feeling taunt is just amazing AND you get a thorough clean, necessary for my face!
  • Clinique’s Anti-Blemish Solutions! This toner is so good. No matter how well I clean my face, you still can’t get as deep as this toner does. Honestly an amazing product. Nothing else I can say, honestly!
  • Lip balm wise I have 3 favorites: Burt’s Bees Lip Balm with Mango and Lip Balm with Pink Grapefruit (that I had to hunt down! (well, an amazing person hunted it down for me)) and the LUSH Honey Trap. I’m a Lip Balm FANATIC. I’m not kidding. I adore my lip balms. And these are amazing. Mainly because of their natural ingredients again. I remember my chemistry teacher saying that we shouldn’t use vaseline based lip balms because the molecules are too big, I don’t really know what that means but I trust her. Go beeswax based lipbalms! Will be repurchasing if I ever run out/lose them.
  • Makeup wise: MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study is something that is amazingly versatile. I use it as an all-over the lid base for any eyeshadows (sometimes I just wear it), I use it for a brown bone highlight, and I use it on my cheekbone as a highlight. I just love the formulation and some how it manages to stay on my lid all day!
  • Another makeup one is the Napoleon Perdis Loose Dust in No 37. Now they’ve changed their loose dust powders completely which makes me very very sad and it means I can’t repurchase (GRRRRR) but thats almost okay because the Bare Study (above) is basically like a cream version, a lot cleaner!

REGRET! Products That Disappointed Me.

I generally don’t have that many products that I end up being sad with because I’m do quite a bit of research on everything I buy before I buy it: that is, I read reviews, I look at ingredient lists and tuff like that online and sometimes I ask around. But, here are some that I thought I would like but I just didn’t

  • LUSH Lip Service is the first candidate I’m rather disappointed with. We all know how much I adore Lush and to have this product that I just disliked so much is really disappointing. It’s so difficult to get it out of the jar, it doesn’t applicate well, and it’s just inaffective. It’d be an amazing product if I could actually use it properly. This is the same issue with my LUSH It Started with a Kiss Lip tint. So strange how my Honey Trap and Latte apply perfectly but not this one 😦
  • MAC Technakohl liner in Purple Dash: I’m not the biggest fan of the Technakohl liners at all. They’re impossible to use (in my opinion), they don’t give me a nice line (well at least this one doesn’t). Honestly, the color isn’t amazing at all either. It looks like I either have really bad bags under my eyes of someone’s punched me in the waterline. It’s just not good at all. So upsetting for how much I love MAC. And it’s rather expensive too.
  • Vaseline Dry Skin Lotion and the likes: Some people swear by this. I just abhor it. It leaves a sticky residue and it just refuses to soak in. When it does, it doesn’t fix my dry skin. Unimpressed.
  • MAC Blush in Fleur Power: I actually love the formulation of MAC blushes, they are one of the best but honestly, it’s just the color of this. It’s too pigmented (haha wow am I saying this)! It doesn’t allow me room to build so as soon as I try to put it on, I look like a doll that’s been slapped or something.
  • Origins Dr Weil Mega-mushroom: it says that it’s best for redness and sensitivity, meaning that it’s hoping to fix that right. Well I used it for a month and noticed absolutely no change in my skin. It says that it’s best for comination-oily skin right. Well I used it and I’d always get more oil on my face than usual (not a nice feeling). On top of this, it has a scent that I just can’t deal with. A definite let down for me because I generally love origins products.
  • LUSH Grease Lightning: a spot treatment that is okay but I expected it to be better. It’s actually pretty good but being use to Origin’s Super Spot Remover, this just doesn’t compare.

So that is it for my post. Tell me in the comments below what are products that you always repurchase and what are the ones you’re disappointed with. I’m curious to see your responses.

Thanks for waiting so patiently for this post and thanks for reading.

I WILL see you tomorrow.

Lash BLAST! DiorShow Waterproof Mascara Review.

Hey guys. I know I kinda said yesterday that I’ll do the rest of that post today but it turns out that people aren’t exactly loving that one so maybe we’ll switch it up. If you do want me to continue it, please tell me in the comment section below. Also, if you have any posts you’d like me to do, please put that underneath too.

Image

Now today calls for the review of my all time favorite mascara. And honestly, I’ve tried WAY too many mascaras (!) and honestly every time I try to venture away from this, I just keep on returning to it. Something about the way it can just hold a curl so so perfectly, the way it doesn’t smudge, everything about it is so perfect for me (and do keep in mind that this is completely a personal thing so this may not work for you).

Anyways. Because I have really stick straight and really stubborn eyelashes, it’s very difficult to get it to behave. I’ve honestly used so many things that are all amazing in their own ways but none of them have the combined effect like this one does.

The plump round brush means that it works the product into your lashes really well as well as building volume and holds a curl so perfectly. This is honestly a really deeply pigmented mascara that is said to be the “cult favorite of makeup artists and lovers of thick glamorous lashes”. And I honestly can’t agree more. After all of the mascaras I’ve tried, this one is the best.

Just as one example, I applied this mascara at around 10 o’clock this morning and my lashes were still looking curled and full (for me anyways) by about 8 pm. I didn’t have to touch up today at all! In 10 hours, it didn’t budge! Not a tiny bit! That is so amazing.

The only problem I find with this is that because the brush is just so big, it catches my eyelid quite often so I get this very… interesting… looking line above my lashes. But I suspect that’s only because of the way my eyes are shaped. It’s also hard to remove because I use the waterproof version. I haven’t used the non-waterproof version but I’d suspect it’d work just as well.

Some people would find fault in that it retails for $US 24.50 but honestly speaking, all high end mascaras pretty much retail the same.

One thing really do support about this mascara  that is not about the product itself is that (as far as I’m concerned), it’s cruelty free. I honestly am so so SO against animal testing and to know that this product is cruelty free gives me even more reason to love it.

I’ve also heard that this product is comparable to Smashbox’s Bionic Mascara so you may want to go and check that out.

My other favourites are:

Image

Anna Sui Super Mascara: product itself it really amazing BUT it clumps so easily.

Image

Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion: it doesn’t hold curls as nicely

Image

Benefit BADgal: it doesn’t hold curls as well

That is the end of my post. I highly recommend this mascara for anyone who would like to try out a new mascara.

Tell me in the comments below what your favorite mascara is.

Thank you so much for reading and see you tomorrow.

Technologic! My Clarisonic Review

Today I’m here with a very “hot topic”: the clarisonic! So I’ve been using this for about two weeks now and honestly, I’ve seen such amazing things I just have to blog about it immediately. I know that whenever I see a blog post that claims something brings “instant” results, I get very very skeptical but you know. I can’t help it if it’s true.

Now I think you should go and read these two posts first before reading this one just to get to know the situation around my skin:

– My Skin Story
MY SKINCARE ROUTINE!

Image

So, let’s begin. When I first heard about the clarisonic, I was shocked at the price. I mean, that is a bit of a splurge for ONE skincare product device. I seriously did not think it was justifiable and plenty and plenty of you would think that too. But after just having so many problems with my skin, I realised that the amount of different products I buy and try out per year honestly amounts to MUCH MUCH more than the cost of a clarisonic. So I went and did some research. All the big gurus have gave it positive review so that was a definite bonus in my mind.

So I finally decided to splurge and get it because I was just so sick and tired of my awful skin condition. Out I went. And out went the $ AUD 149 (I recommend picking it up at a sale time). And in came the Pink Clarisonic Mia (that was the only color they had but I wanted a purple one *cry* but not that big of a deal haha). Just a little background, I use dermobrasions/exfoliants for my skin quite a bit so my skin was used to that sort of treatment so unlike a few people that I’ve come across, I didn’t go through any skin purging period.

When I first started using it, I was in a really bad skin moment where I was just broken out EVERYWHERE so I was really scared of using the Clarisonic in case it was not as gentle as it claims it is. So I started using it with so so much skepticism but after 2 days (TWO days!!!) I started seeing really noticeable changes. My skin was so much smoother and just looked so much brighter and healthier. The blemishes cleared up so much faster than it usually does and honestly, I was just so shocked by how well it actually worked. I can honestly say that my skin hasn’t been as good as this in years, YEARS! So I’m currently loving this device. But all my new skin goodness is not the Clarisonic. My whole skincare system is working together right now to create amazing skin so that includes the Origins Checks and Balances, and the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clarifying lotion that I mentioned and mini-reviewed in that skincare post I mentioned up the top.

More advantages of this thing is the fact that it’s completely waterproof so I can safely use it in the shower everyday like I do. It is also tiny (the size of my hand, and I have rather small hands) which makes it easy to use and good for travel. It comes with one speed (which may be seen as a weakness but honestly, I don’t want to think about which speed is best for my skin, because this speed has been tested and shown to be the best on the face) and this speed also has a set timer. Clarisonic recommends one minute and this thing has a one minute timer already embedded so it runs for a minute without me having to time it myself!

Honestly speaking, the only weakness that it has is the charger (and it’s a really… strange… changer). It takes 18 hours to charge up to full (urgh!!!!) and you can only use it for 20 minutes at full charge. That’s 20 days if you use it once a day but only 10 if you use it twice a day. Who can keep track of that? I hate it when I don’t charge it to full or something and I go to use it and it’s out of battery. Grrrr… Get onto it Clarisonic.

And I’m not 200% sure if it’s just the Clarisonic’s amazing magical powers because I also think that it’s honestly helped my skin absorb products so much better (the same products that I was using before the splurge just seem to work better so…). But seriously speaking, it’s really not that big of a detriment compared to all the amazing beneficial effects that it’s had on my skin.

Their testimonials are honestly more than that, they’re seriously amazing and if you’re thinking of splurging on your skincare, than go for this, especially if you have problem skin. I would honestly recommend this. Oh and it comes in a range of colors (if you get it online).

For Australians: they’re stocking in David Jones, and Myer.

[Disclaimer: All skin is different so what may work or me, may not work for you. So keep that in mind. 🙂 AND This is NOT a sponsored review and this product/device was purchased by me, and as always, this IS my absolute honest opinion.]

I Got Those Kissable Lips ;) (MAC’s Viva Glam V Review)

For the longest time I’ve been in the desperate search for the perfect nude lippy. Every girl needs one of those! I’ve tried the pricy-er Guerlain, I’ve tried Revlon, I’ve tried Bobbi Brown, but nothing was doing it for me. Nothing was really making me think “Yes! This is the one!”People who know me know that I can be very very particular and “anal”(retentive) about things and with lipstick colors, my OCD side takes a whirl.

I’m usually a fan of the bold lip if I bother to wear lipstick. I already have rather “heavily” pigmented lips thanks to genetics and youth, so I always had the mentality that if I’d bother with a nude lip, it’d better be good. So you’d usually see me sporting MAC’s Ruby Woo (a ferocious red) or Guerlain’s Rouge G in Berry (B20) (a fuchsia pink). At Christmas last year, I decided to invest my money in Guerlain’s Rouge G in Beatrix (B60) and I was slightly disappointed. The brilliant baby pink looked so appealing as a swatch, on my hand and I was so flattered by the man at the Guerlain counter that I lay down that $AUD 48 and went happily home. As soon as I started wearing it, I could see an issue. The color payoff on my lips were not the way they were in the store. You couldn’t see much at all. It was a strange cool pink that didn’t complement my rather tanned, olive and warm skintone at all. And worst of all, the formula was so sticky! Uck! The main reason why I avoid lip-glosses like they’re acne or the bubonic plague!

So it wasn’t until april this year that I decided I might brave the nude lippy again. So off I charged to the MAC counter. The MUA there was one of the loveliest ladies I’ve met. She actually said that “we won’t rest until we find that perfect lipstick” and hell we did. With MAC’s collection, though, it took a while. Try this one. No not the right colour. How about this one? Too pink. How about this one? Too glossy. Here you go. Oh my god that’s horrible on me. And this? Too brown. And finally she declared, “I know the perfect one for you.”

So off she charged. When she came back, in her waving hand was a back tube with a red ring instead of silver. I was intrigued. So on the lip it went. And Oh My Mother Of God! It was so perfect. The color and the reflects were perfect. It wasn’t too pink, nor too nude. It was a really lovely plumb-y colour that shows up really nicely on my lips. They were like my lips but better.

Even better than that is the story behind this lippy. It belongs to the MAC Viva Glam range which was started in 1994. The best thing about this lipstick is that all the money you pay (all of it, not 5%, not 50% but 100%) goes the MAC AIDS Fund which has supported men and women with HIV/AIDS for 18 years. Million dollars has been raised through the 6 Viva Glam lipsticks on the market, making this lipstick not only amazing quality, a fantastic nude lipstick, but also guilt free.

Definitely something I recommend and rebuy. So if you want a nude lippy, and you have $AUD 36 to spare, go and buy the MAC Viva Glam V. Let’s save the world one tube at a time.

I hope you liked this review and have found it helpful.

LUSH, My New Saviour! (SKIN & BODY :O)

I have recently introduced myself to Lush and I’m absolutely loving it. I have never before found a brand that works so well on my skin and hair.

(Here is my review of the hair products that I made yesterday)

As I promised, here is the second instalment of the Lush review. This one is for the body products that I’ve brought and used. There are one that I have not yet used (Buffy the body butter: this is because I’m waiting to finish my Aqua Mirabilis one). There are 2 more that I have chosen not to review, mainly because I feel rather indifferent towards them and I think it’d be boring for you to read them: they are Flying Fox (shower gel) and Ambrosia (shaving cream).

Okay. So today I will be reviewing 4 shower or body/skin type products from Lush that I’ve been using. My skin is usually really dry so most of the products that I use must be moisturising otherwise my skin just looks like a desert in drought, and believe me, it’s not a very good look. So keep this in mind if you don’t have a problem with dry skin. I also have an issue with dead skin (I know, ew, gross) as a result of the dry skin so I love to use exfoliants (physical ones, not chemical) on my skin. With most of these products mentioned (save the Ro’s Argan one), I’ll use The Body Shop’s Cactus Brush to make sure I’m actually getting in there and exfoliating away everything. Right now, I can definitely see a difference. My skin looks more healthy and there is a glow to it, and I can positively say I am adoring this new body routine. 🙂

Aqua Mirabilis (Body Butter)

Image

This body butter is absolutely amazing. It has a nice warm smell to it that doesn’t linger for very long but it performs the desired effect. The chunky nature of it is great for the gentle exfoliation of the skin and replenish it with moisture at the same time. This is the perfect combination! This is one of my favourite products from Lush that I have. I keep it in a body butter tin that I got at lush for… not very very much… However I think it was good value because that box prevents it from melting away in the steam as I do not use this everyday. I’ve read reviews that says it doesn’t last but I’ve been using it for 5 showers now and it’s still going (I think I have a third left). You just have to make sure not the scrub yourself with it. What I do is, I layer a bit on myself and then rub it in with my hands. The only thing that’s slightly strange and… gross… is that if I don’t use it for a while and keep it in its box, it tends to start forming some moulds, but its not a dangerous kind and I just get rid of it before using. This may also have something to do with the fact that I’ve had the square for around a month now.

It’s Raining Men (Shower Gel)

Image

I find that there is nothing amazingly special about this shower gel other than the absolutely amazing smell. It makes me want to just melt away and die. It’s so amazing! But, as I said, other than the smell, its not that hype. However, I have heard that honey is a natural antiseptic so I guess it performs its job there and I just can’t tell.

Rub Rub Rub (Body Scrub)

Image

I bought the small tub and I’ve used this product once or twice. I love the refreshing nature of it and the clean type of scents and the clean vibe it gives me. I adore the small little particles that are in it. They work away to exfoliate the skin effectively but gently. Its the sea salt in it that works so well! It leaves the skin smooth and with a fresh scent. It’s definitely better by the very fact that it doesn’t leave the skin irritated and scratchy. So 3 thumbs up for this one. One thing that I found is that mine mostly melted away before I really got to it and this made me really sad. But then again, my showers get really really hot. Haha.

This is like the body/Skin equivalent of Big (shampoo) (which I reviewed yesterday).

Ro’s Argan (Body Conditioner)

Image

This is another highlight. This new product is absolutely amazing for people like me who have a dry skin issue. It is just like a hair conditioner in that it absolutely moisturizes my skin like a queen! It leaves a oily-ish residue that some may find annoying but I love because I know that it’s replenishing my skin. I would recommend not using it if you like to have a morning shower because it takes a while to soak in, but if you have a shower at night, the residue will be gone by morning. Despite the residue issue, I will definitely recommend this.

Note: These are all my real opinions haha :) And keep in mind all our skin is different so what may work for me and what I love may not work for you and what I may love, you may not. 🙂

LUSH, My New Saviour! (Hair :O)

I have recently introduced myself to Lush and I’m absolutely loving it. I have never before found a brand that works so well on my skin and hair.

(Note: This is the first half of my lush review. The second half will be arriving tomorrow and will be focusing on the body products.)

Today I will be giving a review on the 4 Lush Hair Products that I use. Before I started using LUSH my hair was very dry at the ends, didn’t look very luminous and just hung limply. I had a big problem with controlling oil near the roots. However, ever since I’ve started using LUSH I’ve noticed (well, not just me) that my hair is looking a lot more… well… lush. It no longer seems totally dead, it lasts longer between washes, and it smells a lot better. 🙂

Various hauls have brought me to a stage of complete LUSH-ing! So here are the products I use and what I think of them:

Big (Shampoo)

Image

This shampoo is absolutely AMAZING! Its ability to remove the oil from my roots and still keep it shiny and lustrous is just wonderful. I have such problem hair but this product deals with it so well. The only annoying thing is the HUGE salt crystals fall out from your hair and it gets annoying but that isn’t a big deal. However (because I love my showers really hot), it melts a little inside the tub but that’s not a big issue either. It does have a slightly strange smell but thats just result of the seaweed elements and its not a bad strange smell at all.

American Cream (conditioner)

I don’t really know if it’s the “extra added strength conditioner” as it advertises itself to be but I can definitely say that I’m in love with the Lush Conditioners. They don’t leave a layer of oil in my hair afterwards at all and make my hair look so shiny and smooth. My mother even commented on how they’re working on my hair so that’s just proof of how amazing they are. Haha! This particular releases an amazing smell when I’m washing it off with hot water but the smell doesn’t last very long. However, this is still a very good conditioner.

Rehab (Shampoo)

This is definitely not my favourite as I don’t really feel like there is any physical change in my hair (ie in terms of strength and shine but it does leave my hair feeling very clean and fresh. I mainly brought this to go with the Retread Conditioner which is the recommended partner. The scent is not strong at all but does carry a very spring-y/summer-y type feel as it carries with it the papaya essence in it.

This conditioner is AMAZING. I’m not even exaggerating. This work so amazingly on my hair, it softens and nurtures my hair SO much and it just does wonders for my hair. For what it lacks in the scent department, it makes it up three-fold in the performance department. This is definitely approaching a 5/5 for me. 🙂

Note: These are all my real opinions haha 🙂 And keep in mind all our hair is different so what may work for me and what I love may not work for you.
Notice that my hair care routine is rather strange (as you can see I have 2 different sets of Shampoo/Conditioner going at the same time). If you would like me to do a post about my hair routine, please just tell me in the comments below.
